Amber & Joris
Our Africa story
Some journeys make you feel more than they show you — and this is ours.
What it's about
Not as a spectator, but as a participant. Not from a distance, but up close.
Sielvol Afrika is a personal travel company for tailor-made trips and Deep Dives across Southern Africa — built around people, time and genuine encounters.

Who we are
A shared path in life
Amber Van Gool and her father Joris travelled, lived and worked in Southern Africa for years. From that, Sielvol Afrika grew.
- Amber
- Has lived in Cape Town since 2018. She built a network there of local makers, guides, artists and nature photographers — people who live Africa, rather than showing it online.
- Joris
- Landscape architect. Worked on projects where people, nature and space come together.
Not as an offering, but as friendship.
What such a journey can do for you
A soulful journey through Africa
For couples, families and small groups it often becomes a shared reference point — something that keeps resonating, long after coming home.
- slows your rhythm
- opens your senses
- deepens relationships
- and lets you listen again — to each other, to the land, to yourself
Why Africa
Africa invites you to let go. Not by removing comfort, but by softening the noise. Nature is vast and honest. Encounters are sincere. Time regains meaning.
When you travel off the beaten track, space opens for real connection — with people you won't find online, but who welcome you into their world. That is the Africa we share.

Why people choose us
Because we don't sell Africa, we share it
We listen first
Every journey grows in dialogue, tailored to your needs.
We dare to say no
Our strength isn't in routes, but in relationships.
Simple and rich
Close to nature, without compromising on comfort.
Everything that's needed is there. Everything that distracts, we leave out — so what matters remains.
Who it's for
For those who feel that travel can be more than escaping. For those who long for depth, connection and authenticity — families, couples and small groups who want to experience something together that stays with them.
A gentle invitation
Do you feel Africa pulling at you?
Not to tick off, but to experience. At your own pace, with respect for the land — then we're happy to explore together what's possible.
